Please contact your legislator and ask them to REPEAL this TAX INCREASE!
In the flurry of legislative activity just prior to the conclusion of the spring session of the Illinois General Assembly an amendment was adopted to the Illinois Income Tax Act. That amendment was included in Senate Bill 1912 which was considered by the General Assembly and signed into law by the Governor in a single day - the last day of the extended spring session (July 15th). This 273 page bill contained various budget related provisions and was titled the “Emergency Budget Implementation Act of Fiscal Year 2010”. The amendment to the Illinois Income Tax Act has the impact of increasing the state income tax on personal service income earned by service providers through a partnership or limited liability company.
