Home Start advances $8,000 federal tax credit to help with down payment
On July 22, the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) announced Home Start, a program offering qualified, first-time homebuyers a 30-year FHA-insured mortgage and the option of a zero-interest, short-term advance loan on their anticipated federal first-time buyer tax credit.
