Using Advocacy Program funds, IAR commissioned a study to examine the expenses that buyers and sellers incur in conjunction with the purchase of an average-priced home in Illinois. The study found Illinois total direct expenditures over seven industries (construction, retail, transportation and warehousing, finance and insurance, real estate, professional and management services, government) of $4.8 billion. The study further reviewed the direct and indirect economic results of these expenditures made by a seller and a buyer in a single residential transaction amounting to another $7.1 billion.
